Funclusion is the first recreational space in Pakistan designed for individuals of all abilities. It offers a safe, engaging environment where children can explore at their own pace. With a variety of sensory-rich activities and exhibits, each visitor can choose how long they engage, ensuring a fun, empowering experience. The calm, predictable environment allows children to make independent choices while feeling safe and in control.

Sensory Stimulation
What is sensory stimulation?
Sensory stimulation refers to the process of engaging one or more of the five senses with various types of external stimuli. This can involve experiences like listening to music, feeling textures, tasting food, smelling fragrances, or observing visual patterns.
What are the benefits for atypical children?
It can also be used therapeutically in various settings, such as for individuals with sensory processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder or in relaxation techniques.

Sensory stimulation is important for brain development, emotional regulation, and overall well-being, as it helps the brain process and respond to the world around us.
Meet the Founder
Dr. Maheen Noorani, a special education & needs consultant, and a mother of two boys on the autism spectrum, holds a graduate degree from Columbia University, New York, and a Doctorate of Education. Upon returning to Karachi, Dr. Noorani continued her work in the field of special education and inclusion, offering consultancy services to schools, educators, and families. Through her professional experience and personal journey, she identified a critical gap: the absence of safe, thoughtfully designed inclusive play space where neurodivergent children could engage, explore, and regulate without sensory overload. This insight led to the creation of Funclusion.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why blue and beige colours?
Soft pastel colours are soothing for children with ASD. Soft shades of blue is said to me the best colour. Bright colours make it difficult for them to focus, hence our space is in light shades of blue and beige.
Is it just for neurodivergent children?
Funclusion is open to all. It is an inclusive space but we do have a cut off number per slot so each visitor has their personal space
Is there an age limit?
Not at all! Anyone and everyone can enjoy Funclusion, be it for relaxing or self regulation.
Are there socializing opportunities for my child?
Yes! Rest assured, your child is in a safe environment amongst trained professionals.
Can I leave my child there and go?
We are working towards it, so we can give you some free time, knowing that your children are in a happy and safe place.
